what we do

In light of the coronavirus pandemic we are moving church life ‘online’ as much as possible. We will stream a service on Sunday and are making plans to network people together for practical and pastoral support, and for prayer. Please note that we are suspending all face to face events, classes, services and meetings with immediate effect. This means that almost none of the events on this website will be running until further notice. The only exception is foodbank which, as an essential service, will continue in modified form.

English Class

From 10am on Thursdays and Fridays, during term time, we hold classes to help women get to grips with speaking English. There is a creche and a small charge is made.

Foodbank

We run this in partnership with Cardiff Foodbank. Bring your voucher and some bags if you have them. During the coronavirus pandemic we will aim to keep the foodbank running in a modified form. The Foodbank is open between 12pm-2pm on a Friday.

Morning Service

This has now been replaced by the livestream. You can find it here.   There is a Sunday School for children of primary school age during the morning service. The Morning Service lasts about 70 minutes (not including the coffee!). There will be singing, praying, and a talk from the Bible. No special clothes are needed. Just come as you are. There is always tea and coffee.

SundayNight@GBC

On Sunday evenings we meet at 5.30pm for some refreshments and then divide up into a number of ‘option streams’. The session lasts about an hour (not including the coffee!). There is usually a choice of talks, courses and seminars to plug into. No special clothes are needed. Just come as you are. There is always tea and coffee. The options available do change. At present Ian is running a series of seminars about the spiritual battle that surrounds us. Alan…

TownKids

An evening of fun, games, songs, friends and some foundation forming wisdom from the Bible to get you ready for life. Whatever your abilities, experience, interests, knowledge or skills, if you are in primary school, this is for you. From 5.30-7pm in the church every Sunday. Just turn up on the day. It will be great to see you. It is all free.

Bible Study in Cardiff Prison

Some of us are involved in running a Bible Study for inmates in Cardiff Prison. This happens most Tuesday afternoons and is run in partnership with Prison Fellowship. Obviously this isn’t open to the public, but it is an important part of our work as a church. Find out more about Prison Fellowship here.

Homework Academy

At last. Help with homework for those in Secondary School. It runs every Tuesday during term time. Free of charge. Get it done! We have some expert help on hand as well as some tablets and netbooks to get you online. You can even stick around and join in with TownYouth straight after at 7pm.

TownYouth

This is a place for young people of secondary school age. TownYouth runs every Tuesday during term time at the church from 7-8:30pm. It’s completely free. We have a tuck shop, games room with table tennis, pool and table football, a lounge with lots of board games and space to relax. There is also a ‘Bible time’ to talk together about life, the universe and everything. Last summer we got in a baseball coach and headed for the Marl. We…

Prison Ministry Prayer Meeting

Once a month we host a prayer meeting to pray for prison ministry in Cardiff and beyond. Find out more about prison ministry across England and Wales from the Prison Fellowship website here.

Sewing Class

The Cornerstone Women’s Beginner’s Sewing Class is a wonderful time for women to get crafty and spend time together! This runs weekly during term time, on Wednesdays from 11am-1pm. There is also a small charge – £15 per term.
